Objectives
1. To provide the official stand of the Catholic Church on all issues related to education in the country in general and in the state in particular.
2. To study all relevant educational matters affecting the Malaysian Catholic Community and take action necessary to resolve these matters by negotiating with the appropriate authorities.
3. To ensure that a suitable environment for the development of the total human person among all races and creeds is maintained at all times in the schools.
4. To ensure the proper faith formation of Catholic students.
5. To collect and disseminate information on matters pertaining to Catholic education in Malaysia and in the State.
6. To establish and maintain effective contact and dialogue with every educational organizations and with the mission schools.
7. To hold consultation with the Department of Education over the appointment of heads and assistant heads of primary schools and principals of secondary schools.



Functions
1. The Church through the School Management Boards should keep abreast of current educational affairs by seeking or briefings by educational authorities so that, equipped with the up-to-date knowledge and information on educational matters, they could play a more positive and contributory role in ensuring the proper running and administration of our schools and to preserve a proper balance of our own Catholic students or even seeking provision for religious instruction in schools should there be justification for it.
2. The Bishop, as Head of the Local Church should provide the leadership and initiate dialogues or discussions with the relevant authorities as well as to state clearly the official stand of the Church in matter affecting the education of our Catholic children and youth.
